2713 Murfreesboro Pike Nashville TN 37013

Location
I have lived in this area for 7 years and this is one of the ONLY places that will make my list of places to eat in this area of town.
Atmosphere
The atmosphere is nothing special. Inexpensive tables and chairs, small TV in the corner and not the cleanest of bathrooms. None of this matters really. Go for the pizza.
Food
If you are from the NY/NJ area, not just having “been there” but actually grew up there, you will know that this is real pizza. This is not what many people call “NY Style” pizza but real authentic NY Pizza. The only thing that I can see different is that Nashville water is different from the water used in NY/NJ to make the dough. Not only are the owners from Brooklyn NY, they actually packed up and brought their ovens with them to Nashville. When I walk in to the place, I feel a bit of my home town of The Bronx NY. It even has a familiar smell. I love it. Ironically the picture on the front page of their website does not look like their pizza. It looks like a generic pizza picture. They make NY PIZZA! They also make fantastic Calzones and Stromboli as well. They have a buffet also on Saturday. Prepare to loosen your belt as you will not be able to walk away without overfilling yourself on this food. The pasta dishes in the buffet were a bit lacking but I write that off to keeping pasta sitting in hot water in the buffet for too long. Pasta needs to be taken out of the water when it is done. Too long and you get mush. Stick to the pizza!
Service
Simple service. I have never had an issue with the service. I have also never been blown away by the service. This is also not a factor. Go for the pizza!
Overall
Of the literally hundreds of “NY Style Pizza” places that I have tried in my life, Angelo’s Picnic Pizza the only place so far that has kept me going back year after year for the past 7 years! I go for the pizza!
